We are currently stuck in a chain which has been held up by Country Wide. There has been literally no communication from them and their phone lines don’t even work! Would love to get a response to this comment as we’ve run out of all other ideas?!?!

Awful. Do not use. Our buyer is using this company and we are now in the position that we may lose our purchase because of their ineptitude. Use a local solicitor, far better value for money and easier to contact than this outfit.

To add insult, after completing we made a complaint about the condition of the property (simple things like curtain rods and blinds being ripped out of the walls) and were told a letter would be written to the sellers solicitors (to be clear, that's Countrywide). Over two months later we've heard nothing.

Currently stuck in a chain of seven, with Countrywide Conveyancing Services acting on behalf of the sixth party. The first four of us have been ready to exchange for the last three weeks whilst Countrywide Conveyancing Services are just getting around to dealing with enquiries today. I strongly advise that buyers/sellers use a reputable local solicitor, as the small cost saving is certainly not worth the aggravation and delays.

I'd give zero stars if possible.

Using this company will push you to your wits end, at an already stressful time. It’s just not worth the hassle.

Just to follow up from my original post, it’s now 6 weeks later and we are no further forward. We’ve had promises of documents being sent out but nothing has been received. They do respond to the customer service email address, but don’t be fooled into thinking this means things will be actioned.

We are desperate for things to progress and all parties are being delayed by Countrywide. We understand complaints have been made and our case is being handled by a manger, but it makes no difference.

The good news is we got there in the end and got our house; the better news is that we no longer have to deal with Countrywide Conveyancing Services.

wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. my buyer is using them and its been nothing but poor service. all documents were signed 2 weeks ago and we are still no nearer an exchange of contracts let alone a completion date. they keep asking my solicitor the same questions over and over even though they have been answered multiple times (and thats not even covering the stupidity of some of the questions that have been asked more than once. a fine example would be constantly asking about what building permission i have for an outhouse even though they have been told that the outhouse was built when the house was and all houses on the row have them!) . my buyer has even had to get his mortgage lender (apparently in the same building) to chase things up for him. i can only assume the people that work for this company are lazy or incompetent.

Not at all impressed with the service and would recommend that you avoid. Having been assured that having both the seller and the buyer using the same company would save some time we had nothing but hassle and delay.
